QUEST: Nothing Beats YeatsEdit

Ms. Emma: Ruby has given me the go-ahead on leading a cultural initiative, so I've decided to teach poetry!

As my favorite student you must help me find inspiration for the first poem.

Find inspiration for Emma's poem!

Tap the area to clean.

Clock med: 04:00:00
Ms. Emma: My, this scene is awfully reminiscent of William Butler Yeats'\The Song of Wandering Aengus\. But you know that, right?
“You don't? Perfect!”
REWARD Silver med: 100 Xp med: 25

QUEST: Green SceneEdit

Ms. Emma: Let's reconstruct the scene to help us visualize the poem, friend!

The first line reads, \I went out to the hazel wood, because a fire was in my head...\

Search the Canyon for scene materials!

Tap the Canyon to Explore.

Pickaxe med: 3
Retrieve the golden seed.

Tap the Golden Seed to Collect. (1x)

Clock med: 03:00:00
Ms. Emma: Excellent! Reconstructing the larger details first will surely help us establish the scene more firmly in our mind's eye.
“A fire in his head? I woodn't believe it!”
REWARD Silver med: 100 Xp med: 25

QUEST: Poetic AestheticEdit

Ms. Emma: Aengus was a god of love and youth who was smitten with a girl from his dreams.

The \fire in his head\ was the poetic inspiration and fascination he had with the girl's beauty.

Begin building Yeats' Mysterious Tree.

Tap Yeats' Mysterious Tree to Upgrade.

Clock med: 02:00:00
Ms. Emma: You may believe this to be a love poem at first, but it's not!
“That will be covered later. Now pay attention!”
REWARD Silver med: 100 Xp med: 25

QUEST: Sprig GigEdit

Ms. Emma: You see, during Aengus' travels through the woods he fished with berries and caught a silver trout.

He remarks, however, \Something rustled on the floor, and someone called me by my name..\

Search the Canyon for berry plants.

Tap the Canyon to Explore.

Pickaxe med: 3
Gather the blackberry sprig.

Tap the Blackberry Sprig to Collect. (1x)

Clock med: 03:00:00
Ms. Emma: Strangely enough, it was the fish! It \had become a glimmering girl, with apple blossom in her hair...\
“Aengus thought it was an awesome blossom!”
REWARD Silver med: 100 Xp med: 25

QUEST: Identification DesperationEdit

Ms. Emma: You can almost feel Aengus' desperation, no? Just imagine the loneliness of searching for your true love for months on end.
Grow a few blackberry bushes.

Tap Yeats' Mysterious Tree to Upgrade.

Clock med: 08:00:00
Ms. Emma: The next line further alludes to Aengus' legend: she \ran and faded through the brightening air\.

Aengus' love turned into a swan for a year at a time, and he had to identify her as a swan in order to marry her.

“It 'takes swan' to known one!”
REWARD Silver med: 100 Xp med: 25

QUEST: Love From AboveEdit

Ms. Emma: Yeats' narrator, unlike Aengus, never marries his love though. He has grown \old with wandering\ in his search for her.

Let us set a blanket and rest, friend. All this teaching is tiring me out!

Search the Old Mine for a picnic blanket.

Tap the Old Mine to Explore.

Pickaxe med: 1 - 3
Gather the picnic blanket.

Tap the Picnic Blanket to Collect. (1x)

Ms. Emma: The narrator states that he'll \find out where she has gone\, suggesting that he'll continue his search in the afterlife.

How poetic!

“Aengus has some soul searching to do!”
REWARD Silver med: 100 Xp med: 25

QUEST: Jeweled FruitEdit

Ms. Emma: The poem ends with the narrator reunited with his love in the afterlife, as he isn't eternally young like Aengus is.

And my favorite part: he'll \pluck til time and times are done, the silver apples of the moon, the golden apples of the sun.\

Place the picnic blanket beneath the tree.

Tap Yeats' Mysterious Tree to Upgrade.

Clock med: 02:00:00
Ms. Emma: The apples may represent him and his love, or they may even represent the eternal feast in Aengus' home. Critics can't agree!
“Perhaps the apples are smithed Granny Smiths?”
REWARD Silver med: 100 Xp med: 25

QUEST: Poetic RoleplayEdit

Ms. Emma: Oh my, would you look at this mysterious specimen of an apple tree. I do believe we are meant to act out Aengus' story!

All we've left to do is catch a fish, no?

Search the raft for a fishing rod.

Tap the River Raft to Explore.

Pickaxe med: 1 - 3
Gather the fishing rod.

Tap the Fishing Rod to Collect. (1x)

Ms. Emma: Go pluck a berry from the bush yonder while I thread a hook. We're nearly there!
“For fish, the hook is a point of no return!”
REWARD Silver med: 100 Xp med: 25

QUEST: Fishing FinesseEdit

Ms. Emma: Now all we must do is catch the silver trout. I'm counting on your fishing prowess here, friend!
Fish the lake with Emma!

Tap Yeats' Mysterious Tree to Finish.

Ms. Emma: And now we shall wait with bated breath for the trout's transformation. Hush!
Witness the trout's transformation!

Ms. Emma: You saw her, right?! She was so lovely!

Caer was her name, you know. Wherever Aengus may be now, he was truly lucky to yearn after her, and she for him.

“You learned quite a bit, didn't you!”
