Ms. Emma: Asclepius was born to Apollo, one of the chief deities of the Greek pantheon.

He was raised, however, by the centaur Chiron who instructed him in the art of medicine.

A Gorgon's blood was said to have both healing and corrupting powers, empowering Asclepius to become a powerful healer!
